Algonquin Grace Residential Hospice is not just a building- it is a home

It is a home that was built for our community. It is the place our residents call home for the last moments of their life. It is a home where family and friends can spend precious time with their loved one. Within this home high-quality, end-of-life care is provided to members of our local community at no cost to our residents or their families. We have skilled registered nurses and personal support workers providing symptom management and supportive care to both residents and families across the dying trajectory twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. And just like a home, there are utilities to pay and maintenance work to upkeep to ensure the continued operation of this important community service. This home is built on a foundation of care. We want to ensure that we continue this community service not only for today, but for our future generations.

Why Fund a Day of Care?

To operate the Algonquin Grace Residential Hospice, Hospice Huntsville needs to raise at least $1,800 each and every day. Each year, Algonquin Grace receives funding that supports 40% of the annual operating budget. The remaining 60% of operating costs must be fundraised each year. These funds support our 5 residential hospice beds as well as visiting hospice services and grief and bereavement services in both one-to-one and group settings. We host fundraising events throughout the year to help generate these funds along with many other giving initiatives. We rely on donations from our community year after year.

By committing to Fund a Day of Care, you are ensuring we have vital funds to pay the bills, stock the pantry and run vital programs to support end of life care excellence in the Muskoka/Almaguin Highlands area.

For only $75- or one hour of care- our community members can make a meaningful impact on our ongoing service delivery. $0.83 of each dollar fundraised is going to direct service- helping all of us to ensure everyone has access to the end-of-life supports they need.
